Kaoru Kuroki is a pioneering Japanese AV idol who was active from 1986 to 1994, working closely with director Toru Muranishi. Her outspoken media commentary on sexuality made her a mainstream television personality and is credited with fundamentally changing the public image of AV actresses in Japan. Her career was portrayed in the 2019 Netflix series The Naked Director.
